Two Years, a Vision, and a Relentless Push Forward: The Journey of 608B Capital

Two Years, a Vision, and a Relentless Push Forward: The Journey of 608B Capital

The past two and a half years have been an absolute blur for 608B Capital. In March 2023, we didn’t have customers. We didn’t have revenue. All we had was a vision, conviction and the willingness to invest tens of thousands of dollars in building a company that didn’t yet exist outside of our heads.

We had one mentor who was years ahead of us in this business. We trusted her to guide us. More importantly, we trusted ourselves to take action, execute and make it real.

From First Investor to First Lessons

In July 2023, we took in our first investor and originated our first loan. We intentionally moved slowly, by design. We wanted to test every system, stress every process, and truly experience the pressure of growth one controlled step at a time.

By the end of that year, we had our machine dialed in. That’s when we set massive goals, one being the moonshot: raise $10M by the end of 2024.

We failed spectacularly.

We didn’t make it halfway. And because raising capital was my responsibility, the pressure landed squarely on my shoulders. It was impossible not to wonder if I was the bottleneck.

But there’s a difference between failing and being finished.
The seeds were planted. The conversations were happening. The daily actions were compounding, quietly, behind the curtain.

The Momentum Shift

We doubled down.
As 2024 closed out, momentum surged. Conversations turned into commitments. Trust turned into investments.

Today, we are closing out the year with approximately $20M of capital under management and will soon surpass $30M in loans made for 2025. For context:
2024 total loan volume: ~ $7M
2025 already: $30M+ projected
Growth curve: nothing short of explosive

But fast growth is only a blessing when managed with discipline.

Why We Intentionally Pumped the Brakes

We believe we could already be at $30M+ under management, but we intentionally slowed down.

Why?
Because too many businesses chase growth at the expense of survival.
They expand faster than they stabilize. They scale before they systemize. They burn bright and burn out.

We refuse to be another cautionary tale.

2026: The Year of Discipline, Efficiency, and Depth

In 2026, we stabilize, sharpen and fortify.

We have a four-man team firing on all cylinders:
Jason Seward & Tim Blodgett: Brand, growth and market presence in North Carolina and Virginia
Bill Phillips & Brandon Seward: Systems, servicing reliability and operational excellence

We may not take in a single dollar of investor capital this year. Not because we can’t. Because we don’t need to.

When we’re ready, the right investors will already be waiting.

Our focus:
Deepen our presence in NC and VA
Increase our loan demand close to home
Strengthen our reputation as the dependable lender
Protect investor returns with disciplined growth
Keep the business fun, meaningful, and sustainable

We Built This for Freedom

Two guys wanted out of the corporate grind.
Two guys wanted more time with family.
Two guys wanted to build something that aligned with who they were, not just what they did for a paycheck.

Some doubted us. Some still do. That’s fine.

Confidence and resourcefulness won the day.
Mentors shaped us. Friends supported us. The community believed in us.
And every failure along the way quietly cleared a path for success.

The first 30 months of 608B Capital have been a masterclass in vision, patience, and strategic speed. We launched without revenue, trusted execution over perfection, grew through failure, and now sit with $20M under management and explosive loan demand. Moving forward, our focus shifts from rapid expansion to strategic stabilization, operational excellence, and deep regional presence. We’re building slow, steady, responsible and durable growth that serves our investors, our families and our long-term mission.

The Journey That Became the Destination

I always say I want to build a journey that I am so passionate about that it becomes the destination.

Today, we’re living that.
Not perfectly.
Not without frustration.
Not without risk.

But with gratitude, humility, momentum and a fire that’s only getting hotter.

This is what it looks like when vision becomes real, when adversity becomes fuel and when the journey becomes the reward. Here’s to 2026: disciplined, strategic and built to last.
